As January kicks off and many folks are setting their plans and goals for the year ahead, I thought it’d be nice to share some of my favorite quotes about goals with you.
These quotes can be helpful to reflect on during your weekly review at the end of each week. They’ll remind you how important it is to set goals, work hard to achieve them, and keep going even when things get tough.
Here are some of my favorite quotes about goals.
1. Never have a lack of goals.
“If you’re bored with life – you don’t get up every morning with a burning desire to do things – you don’t have enough goals.” –Lou Holtz
Having objectives that we are enthusiastic about provides us with something to look forward to every morning. Living a mediocre life is a great way to achieve nothing.
2. Vision is everything.
“If you don’t know where you are going, you will probably end up somewhere else.” –John Peter Lawrence
Both highly successful individuals and organizations have a very clear idea of where they want to go.
3. Dream enormously big.
“Turn toward the moon. You’ll land among the stars even if you miss.” –Les Brown
Having lofty aspirations and reaching for the stars has been the greatest thing that has ever improved my life. Reaching for the stars and having lofty dreams forces you to step outside of your comfort zone.
4. Persistence makes all the difference.
“Never give up. The world’s easiest way out is this one. Decide on a goal, then keep going until you achieve it. Once you’ve achieved it, establish a new objective and keep going until you do. Never give up.” –Bryant Bear
If you have a desire or goal you are passionate about, never give up until you realize it. Make every effort necessary. It takes perseverance in the face of difficulty to create champions.
5. Goals give our lives meaning.
“The trouble with not having a goal is that you can spend your life running up and down the field and never score.” –Bill Copeland
The approach to leading a purpose-driven life is to set goals and then work incredibly hard to attain them.
6. True success is all about working towards meaningful goals and dreams.
“A goal is not always meant to be reached; it often serves simply as something to aim at.” –Bruce Lee
While realizing our aspirations and goals is wonderful, it is not the most crucial aspect of goal-setting. What matters most is the kind of person we end up being along the journey.

7. Stop playing small.
“The great danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.” –Michelangelo
Setting your goals too low and playing small have no advantages at all.
8. Where are you headed?
“If you aim at nothing, you will hit it every time.” –Zig Ziglar
It’s very likely that you will be extremely unsatisfied with your life’s outcomes if you don’t set goals. Setting oneself up for failure by aiming for nothing.
9. Stay focused at all times.
“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal.” –Ford Henry
As soon as we lose focus on our objectives, uncertainty, anxiety, and worry take over. Never lose sight of what really important. Instead of focusing on the difficulties you will face along the route, imagine yourself accomplishing your goals and the sensation that brings.
10. It’s never too late.
“You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.” –Lincoln S.
You may always make changes in your life and pursue new ambitions and goals at any age. When Nelson Mandela became the oldest elected president of South Africa, he was seventy-five years old. On October 10, 1976, Dimitrion Yordandis, then 98 years old, completed a 26-mile marathon. Never assert that you are too old.
